A couple of months ago Jan noticed that the ceiling fan in the living room looked as though it was ready to give way. Sure enough on closer inspection it revealed that the previous owner was as good at putting up ceiling fans as he was with everything thing else electrical.
Since the fan had to come down, and the plastic bos t was hanging from was not securely attached it seemed like a good time to build the box beam we had been thinking about. Just a few lengths of 12’ hickory and some 2x4 ripped to match the 14 degree slope. What a bear getting this in place! My scaffold was not high enough so everything had to be done with two ladders. Quite the challenge.
