Hello all.
I inherited this under-bench vise which I will be restoring. Jaws are 10" wide and it opens about 11". There is no name, but it does say "Made in USA" with the number 2433 stamped in the jaw.
My problem is that the rear nut for the vice screw is missing. The screw is single-lead Acme thread, 7/8-4 (0.25" pitch). The pocket for the nut is 2" x 2" x 5/8" thick.
Any ideas on where to get a replacement nut?
Thanks for your help.
-Tom

Are you sure the lead screw is 4 TPI? the standard 7/8" Acme screw pitch is 6 TPI, which McMaster-Carr carries in several lengths, and the nut is 1½" square.

As Ted said, "welcome aboard!". You will get along here quite well with a first post helping someone and a picture to boot!!! Stick around and create a thread telling us about yourself.
