Another piece of wood uncovered from a bucket half filled with aged sawdust.
This is bloodwood and is extremely hard and extremely heavy but most of all it is extremely prone to heat checks during sanding.
The lid is a little thicker than I like but I was afraid of the heat I was generating to cut this wood. One little tic and the whole shebang is over. This I know from experience.
A rather large box at 2 3/4" tall and 3 3/4" in diameter. Finished in multiple coats of brushing lacquer
