Box Swap (closed)

Not sure about the mechanics of 'who to who', but I think Ned did set the list and the date! And you are on it Rennie!

Just thought I'd send out a reminder! :thumb:

OK folks,
here's the deal, I'm going to leave the chime in list until next Friday.

Timeframe, I realize that the holidays are coming up, and we're all busy, so let's set the date for completion at November 16th. That will allow us to have 'enough' days even for us weekend warriors to get some shop days in.

The list of folks who are 'in'
Yours truly.
Brent Dowell
Toni Ciuraneta
Rennie Heuer
Nancy Laird
Rob Keeble
Tom Niemi
Don Baron
Jon Lanier (if nov 16th isn't too tight of a contstraint)
Larry Merlau for supplies...(finished box too Larry?)

anyone else, let me know and I'll add you to the list.

Well, I guess I need to get busy!

But I don't see that there has been a pairing of swappers.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to opt out---got too many other things going on at the moment.

Ned,

For you line of work, that's a good thing, Right?

Just thought I'd stir things up a bit today

(Only because I've actually been able to spend a little time in the shop)

Brent

Just to clarify myself.

I have started working on mine already, otherwise Rennie won't get his dove!;) in time.

I still do not know to whom I'm paired, any volunteers? Beware of shipping costs!:(

And last but not least, is there going to be a general post with pics of all the boxes and author's names? In this way we all could see each other's boxes in one go on the same post.
What do you think?

Please could Ned or anyone tell me if this project has died before even being given birth?

I do not see any action on this thread, most people seem a bit disoriented and as far as I know nobody knows to whom is paired yet.

May I remind everybody that there is only next week left to finish the boxes?

I see to much entrophy on this thread...:(

Maybe everybody is too busy making the box that they can't post...:(

Maybe all of them have been abducted by a box eater...:(

Maybe it was not such an exciting idea after all....:(

Maybe too many "maybe`s"...:(

Hello?? Is anybody there??....:dunno:

I've been 'distracted' lately. I want to get this going, but there's no reason to be in any 'hurry' on it. I haven't given up on it yet.

If you're still interested or newly interested please either chime in here or drop me a PM, include if you're up for a Box to swap or just some supplies for a box. I'll collate those and work out either a round-robin swap or a one to one personal exchange.

Sorry gang, it just has been one of those months.

Now you tell me!

I've been rushing to make my box and have it ready, only hinges needed and it seems that it will have to rest in my shop.

SIC TRANSIT GLORIA MUNDI...

Next time I'll take it easier.

PS. I'm not blaming you Ned, but if the others are not making their boxes it is rather sympthomatic... sad, sad, sad...

I'm still interested but maybe we could do after the holidays. I did complete my first box though, it was a practice box for this trade, but has now became a box for my mothers schnauzer that passed a few weeks ago. will post pics of box later. Wow keeping joints tight on those is tough. Other threads on "square" lately hopefully will help with those for me.

Tom

Hey Toni, if things do not work out for a full fledge trade, I will still do a trade with you if you can wait a bit. Don't need your work be in vein, and I have no problem shipping to Spain :thumb:

Tom

Ned your sugestion date schedule of January, for me, works well. I hope it works for others also.
Since I had never tried a box before, I thought I had better try a practice box before I get into the real thing. This is made of quarter sawn red oak for the sides and outer top and the center top is Jara. Finish is teak oil. Still need work on fitting the 45's, getting them right is quite the chore for me.

Tom
