Huge buffalo fan here. That is going to be an awesome picture!

Reminds me, I just finished reading a book titled: "Scotty Philip the man who saved the buffalo". by Wayne Lee. Old Scotty decided to save buffalo, because they were going extinct. Scotty was quit a guy, I really enjoyed the book.

A few hours today. Sitting back and studying after each 15 minute of applying ink is more draining then actually painting.
My visual skills suck. I love, but don't understand how artists can do something like that. When I was younger I took lessons on sketching. I would draw something and people would ask, "What is it"? Same later when I tried woodcarving, I got the "What is it?" again. But, I do understand the "draining" part. I am currently writing my fourth novel. After each chapter I stress and fret about what should come next. FWIW, with woodworking I did the same thing. Even for pens, I would spend an hour or more selecting just the right wood, as I saw it, when any would have worked.

Frank I completely understand. I let the piece sit 3-4 days at a time just looking at and then covering it up so the next look is fresh. Right now I'm waiting on several new brushes 00, 0 , 1's & 2's long handles. I use to get right up on the painting but I'm finding my perspectives have changing. I'm finding bending to the flow is becoming very interesting.

This is coming together.
Frank at some point I have to trust my abilities. When I think a painting , drawing or anything I decide to do just looks like "What is it ?" I work at visualizing the piece finished and get back to it.
