I still do not understand why - absolutely nobody asks for an ID when using a CC. That just seems WRONG.

I write "Please Ask For ID" on the signature line of all my credit cards. I'd guess about 1 out of 20 times I get asked for my ID, and I always make it a point to thank them for actually asking for it.

Used to be you could write "see I.D." in lieu of a signature on a card..... no one even looks at the back of the cards anymore.... I rarely even sign the backs anymore (I know == bad idea)

Most of the machines I use anymore you just plug it in yourself wait a few seconds and pull it out. They never look, they never ask for id.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable if we had pin and chip like they use overseas.

Kinda makes theft easy. Anybody can use any card they find REALLY easily. Not good.
