One of my grandsons requested a sign in the shape of the Chevy bowtie. He's 17 now and bought a 2000 Silverado a few months ago, so he wanted the emblem to display in his room. I went one better by finding a vector file of a 2000 Silverado and added it to the sign. He's pleased!

I ran this on my CNC after applying sealer and a topcoat to a scrap of maple. The details we cut with a 22° v-bit going 0.04" deep in three passes to stay as clean as possible. A 1/4" end mill was used for the final cutout. After a light sanding to remove any cutting fuzzies, I applied some walnut stain to fill the carve. When it was dry, I applied another topcoat to finish it. His mom and step-dad are visiting here this weekend, so the sign will get a TLC delivery to him.

Here are the VCarve concept drawing and the final product.
