Made enough inserts to last quite a while.

For those that have not had these conversations . . . a replaceable backer for your drill press table is nice. A square one, off center, is nice in that it gives you four (or eight if you can flip) areas to destroy per insert. This is what I did for years. A round one, off center, gives you a variable number of uses depending on what you are doing but, assuredly more than four or eight (y) .
 
Dang Glenn! I should be talking to you more often, It never ocurred to me that idea. My drill press only has a piece of board attached with bolts on the metal base and I put any sacrificial scrap I have lying around between it and the piece that I am drilling. Those details and jigs you make make working easier and more enjoyable.
