Has anyone installed a diesel heater in their shop? I just learned these exist. Sold more as camper and rv heaters but I'm seeing YouTube videos of people using them to heat their shops. Some using a car battery on a trickle charge and some getting an ac adapter. Big selling point for them is the exhaust is vented outside unlike kerosene and propane heaters which seems to me would be a safer way to heat in the winter.

A long time ago.....

I lived in a unit in a four family that was very old (early 1900's) and had oil heat (converted, I know, because my shop was in the old coal bin). We didn't have two nickels to rub together so could not meet the oil companies minimum delivery requirement. So, on the way home from work every other day or so, I would pick up two or three 5-gal cans of diesel at the local cheap-gas station and put it in the tank so we could run the heat for a day or two.
