Feather walnut

This was a piece of walnut firewood that I saved a couple of years ago. It's 12x8 inches. Going to be a box top.

Yep, definitely better as a box top. Feathers smell terrible when they burn . . .

It will make a wonderful box top.
Do you intend to use it by itself or will you float it inside a frame? If you have additional wood from the same tree with the same color I would consider framing the panel.

That's the problem with fire wood. I always want to save the nice pieces I find. Now no problem, no fireplace. But then some of my projects I'd like to burn. Very nice piece of wood.
