So is the material on the sides cloth or rubber? Does it have a one-way valve or intake through the blow hole?

It is like Naugahyde ,cloth&rubber .Air comes in from three holes in the side.with a flapper that’s attached from the inside.

Very nice and looks fully functional. My first wife had a coffee table that was shaped like a set of bellows ... about the same shape as your only bigger...an not functional.... it was about 4 ft long and 2 1/2-3 ft wide... it was a pain in the nether region to move and we moved 4 times in the 7 years we were married... (we moved when the house got dirty...
