I wanted one of those pole holders for the longest time. Got one and it took up so much space, it was a love hate relationship with it. Gave it to a buddy that wanted it bad and didn't say anything but about 2 years later he admitted it used a lot of space. My fishing rods are along my garage wall on a rack I made. Think if I were making one I would do a half circle, more of a crescent shape.

With that said Gayl, wonderful stand and beautiful finish. My experiences do not detract from the great project you created.

Built one a number of years ago. Searched for the clips all over the internet. Finally found what I needed and posted something about them in an article of field and stream. Years later I was still getting requests for the clips. I have since lost the contact where I did get them. Yeh the stand does take up a lot of space but you are looking at 18 rods; so it is a trade off. Also it fits in my shop.
