Today I need to finish up the last of the memorial baseball ornaments and do a load of laundry. Tomorrow I'll be in class all day at the AZ American Legion Convention in Oro Valley (Tucson) for Service Officer Training (continuing education). Sunday after Church I drive over to the Coast (Oceanside) for the Memorial Service on Monday and drive back on Tuesday so I can be ready for my regular service officer day in the office on Wed.. No grass gonna from under this old mans feet.

Since Monday, I've been wearing a heart monitor to try to catch what's happening with my heart beat/rate. This one is much smaller than what I've been stuck with before, as it is a pocket size monitor with three sensors. I hardly know it's there. If I feel some kind of event, I press a couple of icons and provide input. Mostly what has been happening in past months is a lot of skipped beats and occasional PVCs. Of course, most of that stuff doesn't appear when I'm at the doctor's office, so this extended monitoring should provide some real data.

Being Friday, Bobbie and I will make our trek to Boston for lunch, then back home for my nap time. not sure what the afternoon will bring except for a forecast for more rain!

Saturday I hope to get in some shop time on a couple of projects - depends on how I feel.

Sunday will be our normal routine of me preparing brunch, then just chillin' until time for the NASCAR Cup race.

Speaking of culinary endeavors, I made some turkey chili at LOMLs request on Friday from a recipe I found online. She likes the lighter texture and flavor of it, although she also digs into my regular beef chili as well. :)

The pump went out on our swamp cooler last night, so I'll be replacing that today. We have refrigerated air in addition to the swamp cooler so there's been no real panic to fix it, but the weather is forecast to get hotter as the weekend progresses and the sooner I get it done, the less time I'll have to spend on the hot roof.

I want to de-kludge a bunch of stuff around here this weekend. My shop, our shed, my desk, and my guitar workbench all need to me straightened out and cleaned. Now, whether any of that actually gets done is anyone's guess, but those are my thoughts the first thing Friday morning, lol.

Replacing drive belt on riding mower. It started acting up last time I mowed, wouldn't back up. Did not realize how difficult it was going to be. Bought a come along to stand mower on end after removing mower deck. Now I just need to feed new belt into all the nooks and crannies and pulleys and reverse the procedure. I have found my meds and age certainly lead to easy bruising when working in and around close spaces. Probably take me all weekend to complete!!! The high heat 90 degrees plus does not help matters. Something else to gripe about.
Everyone have a safe and healthy weekend and more.

Boy, you can say that again. Bruising like crazy and every time I get too close to a corner the thin skin tears a triangle out of me . I'm having to buy bigger and bigger bandages.
My old Masterbuilt Sportsman Elite propane smoker gave up the ghost last fall and the bottom rusted out. I've been looking for a replacement that had the same wide sturdy racks but can't find one, and they don't make 'em any more. Finally found a used one on FB Marketplace about an hour away and will go take a look at it tomorrow. Hopefully, I can make one that works out of the pair.

Rainy day shop clean up the rest of the week end.

Welcome to the club! My arms seem to always be black and blue. The least little bump results in a bruise. I can't blame meds, The only 'thinner' I take is a daily 81mg aspirin.

Picked up a new pump a while ago, but considering the fact that it's 92º with 15-20 mph wind right now (can you say convection oven?), I think I'll be waiting until tonight to install it. The swamper's on the roof, but I've got good flashlights, lol. Heck, last night I was putting the last of the tomato plants in the ground at 1:30 AM.

CJ went home Saturday evening. Lou came home from being down in Southern IL for her family reunion. Flag is coming along nicely. Recycling projects are making my shop lawn look like a junkyard. But when done, will be eye appealing. CJ can catch, halter, stanchion and walk all calves by himself. He and Fina Jo will be coming again later this week so we can get primer on his flag and Fina Jo can get her recycling and woods projects completed. Audrey is in mini 4H in our county this coming week. Will miss her being in the pig scramble tomorrow night as I bought a feed auger cart and need to get it home tomorrow. Will be going to watch her show a dairy calf (not hers but an older 4H member will provide her a calf to use for ring time). So that will be Tuesday. Got a 1/2" of rain today. Boy that was needed !! Mom is back from Florida so we are busy with her Dr. visits. Will update CJ's flag project soon, you all be safe and have a healthy week.
