Friday 26th

CJ and I have to unload feed and then go to the county fair and watch Audrey sell her gilt and barrow. Been a wonderful stretch of weather, cool, no humidity. CJ and I have half the fencing done on the front pasture. Things are in place that we might finish it tomorrow and get the steers out on grass. Then heat and humidity this coming week so we will be working on his 10th and final 4H wood project.

Ran out of storage space in the kitchen, so designing a 5 1/2’ wide x 7’ tall pantry at the bottom of our stairs in the basement, bottom 3’ will be 18” deep, top 4’ will be 12” deep. Also getting the final arrangements for my mom’s funeral and putting the final coats of finish on her Urn. Also final food plans for my daughters wedding reception which is July 11th, busy busy busy 🤪

Been working on flooring this week, legs are feeling all those muscles I haven't used in a while, so it's been slow going. Heading home to the farm this afternoon, we've got a 90th birthday party for a good family friend tomorrow in town. Besides yard work, I may try to start sorting out the garage from when I moved 3 bays into 2 for my wife's craft studio.

I may also need to install her mini split before it gets too hot for her out there. I picked up another on a prime day deal for replacing the one in my office also, but won't arrive until at least next week.

Hot here!

Had a good week in the shop although I did sweat a bit. Not an unusual amount.....for a fat boy.

Celebrated our 53rd anniversary this week. I am a lucky man to have married such a wonderful woman. (Isn't that right, honey?)

Hope everyone is well.
Congratulations to you and Mrs. Mike! 🎉

Pretty busy weekend this time around. I harvested the few plums our tree produced this year and still ended up with enough for a double or triple batch of jelly. I got them pitted and cooked down a couple of nights ago. Today I'm planning to re-strain the juice, add the sugar and pectin, and get it all in jars. It'll be a true Jellypaloosa.

Tomorrow the band is playing at the wedding reception of a friend and fellow musician. (The groom is one of my old students, and he's the leader and guitarist in my drummer's other band.) Should be a good time. A lot of the ABQ music community will be there. Setup is at 10:00 AM, sound check is at noon, and the show starts about 8:00 PM, so a 2 hour show pretty much takes up the whole day. (Shower, lunch, and nap between sound check and showtime.) I need to spend a few hours today running through all the songs and making sure everything's set up right in my guitar rig.

Sunday will be catching up on F1 racing, hanging a new roller blind in one of the bedrooms, loading a truckload of yard waste to take to the dump next week, mowing the lawn (assuming it's dry enough), and whatever else SWMBO comes up with. ;)

...watch Audrey sell her gilt and barrow.
I had to use Google to refresh my memory for the definitions of gilt and barrow. As an aside, Gilt and Barrow would be a good name for a brew pub in San Francisco. 🤣

Trying to figure out what to do with 20lbs of cucumbers. I might take some down to the fire station.
Back in the days when people never locked their car when they went to town, they'd still lock them in the summertime or else risk finding a grocery bag full of zucchini or cucumbers on the front seat of their car when they come back from the store. :D

Wiped out
My son had everyone overvtoday
Heat was tolerable but dewpoint was like Amazon jungle Amazon on South America not online amazon

Today is it for me
The lousy neurologist cut my myasthenia meds in half and I'm almost zero functioning in this tropical humidity
Temps are only lower 80's but after an hour in shop and I walked a mile and did some food shopping I'm dizzy and just downed 2 water bottles
Never felt like this in my life
My shirt feels like I went for a swim
Fat diabetic myasthenia new stents I think I'm losing this battle time to face facts
