Friday 3Feb23

Bit of a messy day around here. It's 49° and a little rainy off and on, but we'll take it, considering this is the system that was creating the ice over in Texas!

Bobbie and I will make our usual trek to Boston for lunch, then back home for nap time. I do a little work on a couple of small project in amongst our other doings.

Saturday will include shop time on another Edison DD player grille and milling some wood for a small magazine rack.

Sunday will be the normal routine of me preparing brunch, then chillin' out watching some NASCAR and who knows what else.

I have a boiler pump to change out, but still waiting for the boiler to finish burning down and cool off. I may start installing the generator panel and start moving some of the more critical circuits over to it (lights, fridge, microwave, boiler, well, internet, etc.) Also need to replace the full sized bed we've been using with a queen size.

Heading up to meet with the excavator to plan leveling the ground and get ready to build. I got my building permit :woot:
Yay! Congrats on getting the permit. :thumb:

No real plans here so far. I have a few odd jobs around the house to get done, but nothing exciting. I'll also be spending some time brushing up on a few guitar things since next week will already be the second Friday of the month and our monthly Dragonhorn gig.

Im going to see just how little I can do this weekend.
temps tonight are expected to drop to single digits, and even if I turn on the two heaters early tomorrow, the shop will never be warm enough for my old arthritic hands,

so Im guessing I will do very little, besides sleep and eat.

if I feel ambitious, maybe Ill sort through my 150 teeshirts and get rid of some. everytime we go into a casino or touristy place, I purchase a tee shirt. time to unload some make room for new.

Im very close to finishing the small bookcase Im working on, and as soon as its all assembled and mostly finished, Ill order plywood and some cherry for the next one.

well, we have something to do, at some point tomorrow me and elen will sit down with google maps and plan/strategy session our trip to yellowstone park this may. places we want to stop, things we want to do, places that are secondary and only if we feel up to it, and then places we only have to be in case of a problem.
with a little bit of luck, and some good health we will be in for a long car ride with many stops and a few friends along the way.

Sounds like fun.... I've wanted to go to Yellowstone for years, but with Dianne's back problems, she would never be able to ride that far... it's a chore just going into Knoxville -- about 55 miles away.

If you want a really interesting ride, Take Montana 212, off I90 just west of Billings, down through Red Lodge then up and over Bear Tooth Pass (about 12,000 feet) and on into Cooke City, just outside the NE gate to Yellowstone.

we are a bit cautious these days when travelling through very rural areas.
we try to stay on main roads now that we need more frequent rest stops and it just makes elen more comfortable. She doesnt enjoy the openess as much as I do.

Im looking into the elevation of certain places. We dont do well at higher altitudes as we learned a couple years back in blackhawk colorado and that was only 8500 feet or a bit higher.

yellowston is approx 8000 ft above sea level, and thats right about where we both felt it, so much we ended up leaving blackhawk due to lack of sleep and extreme exhaustion
