OK. I admit it. I ain't gotta a clue on what's happening today. I started giving the shop equipment a good cleaning since everything has been covered up during the heat wave. Looks like it is going to stay a bit milder now, so should be turning again in a couple of days. While cleaning I discovered a possible arrangement that will let me maximize the space usage better so I will probably have to move a bit of the wiring as well. No big deal. The big stuff is heavy so I have to go a bit slow on moving it. Otherwise all that I have gained from the acupuncture in the back will be flushed down the crapper.

Did get the mowing done earlier in the week.
Chopped off the weeds. They seem to grow in spite of it being so dry. Also got some bush trimming done early in the morning before it got to hot. Actually the temperatures have been in the high 80's this past week. Nice!! Tomorrow going to farmers market to get produce. Going to try some spice pickled green tomatoes. Had some the other night and decided to try and make some up. Not going any place, don't want to fight the holiday traffic.
Everyone have a safe and healthy weekend and more

Came home sick yesterday, didn't even drive my bus route today, stayed home. Feeling a little better. Fina and Josh brought their Kubota over, nice tractor, never ran a brand new one before. Have about 10 acres of bales to get picked up. Got cattle feed moved, looked at a tractor and loader, hope to get something figured out soon. You all stay safe and healthy.

It was 59 degrees when I went to the shop this morning.

I just came in from the shop to rid myself of excess coffee. They say you only rent beer but I am here to tell you I only rent coffee. I never drink more than 2 cups but I routinely Niagara Falls 10 times that much.

I spent the two days this week I was not in the company of doctors finish sanding knife handles. Today I am making sure the blades are clean by removing tape residues. I am replacing the old tape with new tape to keep finish off the blades. Tomorrow I will start finishing the handles.

My eye has finally healed and I am thankful for that. My vision is 20/40 in the eye that had surgery. He has given the go ahead for my left eye which I will be so glad to have fixed. I never knew how bad my cataracts were until I had surgery on one eye. Now the left eye is like a black hole; my peripheral vision is terrible and my stereoscopic vision is non-existent. I know people have to live with only one eye but more than ever I am in awe of them. I am like a whiney little girl complaining about my eyes when I should be thankful to have what I have. We sometimes forget to be thankful for our blessings.

We had a cool morning, I road the bike in . It's about 7 miles to the shop in a T-Shirt and leather vest. Feels good slight chill plus it wakes me up quick.

Getting ready to spend the long weekend with all three grandkids, will be the youngest’s first overnight with us, without mom. Hopefully we can keep them entertained. I took the day off to work on a few chores, need to start by brush hogging a path down to the creek. Need to check the playground for wasp nests. May go get some spray for the yard to take care of the chiggers.

Ices and pizza if you are almost 3 years old there is no place you'd rather be at 11:30 am on a Friday morning
Don't tell momma where grandpa took you after school
Worked out great ices next door to pizza place

Football all weekend inside because the heat is coming back again. Bonus for the wife and I is that our daughter is coming home from college for the weekend. She's only been gone 3wks but it seems much longer. The wife had a hard time with the transition, but the last week was much better.

KU game tonight, Iowa at 11am tomorrow, Norhtern Iowa vs Iowa State in afternoon. Watching the Northern Iowa game for sure as that is where the daughter is attending. Lunch with my parents and sister's family on Sunday.

Haven't touched a tool in over 2 months as work and hot weather has been in the way. Hopefully in a few weeks temps will go down and I can get back in the shop.

well my house guests just left for their drive back to Wisconsin. Had a good week with them, it's been over 50 years since I last saw them. Had a good time at the Submarine Vets convention. Next year it's being held in Cleveland and my buddy is trying to talk me into going back for it. Now I have the house to my self and am enjoying my solitude. Sanday will be back in my routine of church and going to the post.

Mowing as soon as it dries out. Got the gutters cleaned earlier this week in anticipation of some huricane generated rain, but it moved out to sea below us and we didn't get much. There are some nice jalapenos, anchos and poblanos in the garden begging to be made into pepper jelly and some cool looking winged beans almost ready for a stir fry on the Blackstone. Okra is ready too.

The missus and her two new kitties have appointed me chief mess cleaner cat hotel assembler and poop scooper, jobs she failed to mention during the "we need a cat" negotiations. So far, "Walter" (named after the Chevy commercial cat) will not play fetch, gather firewood or bring me a beer. I'll see if he likes riding in the truck. This morning he climbed up on a stump that serves as a plant stand, knocking off all the plants and breaking the grill on a nice Bose speaker...this is apparently the equivalent of a new puppy eating your best shoes. His sister, "Willow" claims to be innocent of any mischief.

Spending today gearing up for a band gig tonight. It looks like tomorrow I get to replace the pump on our swamp cooler, since it died this morning. (Thankfully we also have central refrigerated air. LOML's temperature comfort band is very narrow. At 72º she's "freezing" and by about 75º she's "burning up".)

Also sometime this weekend I'll be advising and helping my BIL repair a wooden toy box for one set of grandkids. It's an heirloom (originally my mom's older brother's). It's been used for about 4 generations, but my nephew's kids managed to break it. It shows signs of previous repairs by my grandfather, who despite having the tools, was not a good woodworker. I looked at it a while back and suggested the easy fix, which would be to build an all-new lid, but my nephew wants to retain as much of the old and busted wood for sentimental reasons. (More like mental reasons, but whatever, lol.) So instead of making something that looks nice, it'll look like another cobbled-together repair job with worn-out wood and far too much wood filler.

And of course this is another Formula 1 weekend, so I'll be watching the practice sessions, qualifying, and the race as time permits. Gotta see if Max Verstappen can get his record-breaking 10th win in a row this weekend. He's won 11 of the 13 races so far this season, with 9 of them in a row. Nobody has ever won 10 races in a row in Formula 1.

Turned out that pizza place was permanently closed so being we live on Long Island there's another pizza place within 100 yards

Made some major, tangible progress on the stalled kitchen reno today, after weeks of paralysis and the past few days’ flurry of activity, as I finally made a plan to approach making the wall flat and plumb.
Our neighbour, a fit guy with drywall experience during his student summer job days, was a tremendous help. I have a local freelance guy lined up to do the crackfill. Next is cabinetmaking, the fun stuff👍
