So, When I bought my 2005 Bobcat 763g , heck, I don't know how many years ago, I also bough a John Dow 25 gallon diesel fuel caddy. I figured it'd be nice to have fuel for it, and to be able to have some diesel around for my truck. I also got the crank pump for it and it worked pretty well. These things are not cheap either.

One of these kind of things.

As the years passed, it's developed a few issues, some of which are pretty well documented. The hoses are crap and are not uv protected so that's an issue, but easily fixed. I just replaced them and put some protective sheaths around them to keep them flexible for the future.

The tires are the typical cheap import pneumatic tires that never last or hold air, so I filled them up with that green goop to keep them from deflating. Seems to work.

But, The real defect in it is the filler neck the cap goes on is a different plastic than the rest of the tank. And apparently that plastic is some kind of auto disintegrating plastic. Not sure if the diesel causes it to rot or if it's the sunlight, but rot it does and break off it will.

I used a little rubber cork from my brewing supplies for years as a way to keep using the tank. Worked ok. But the other day needed to fill the bob cat and well, just decide it was time to fix it.

After some research I found that it uses a 2.25" buttress thread. Unfortunately, it seemed like thats one thread size/type that F360 doesn't have, but I did find someone had modeled one on thingiverse. So I was able to grab their stl and modify it to my purposes.

One of the problems with the tank is that is made out of polyethelene which is notoriously difficult to use adhesives to just glue something to. So I got some stainless screws, some JB-Weld plastic bonder and went to town.

I printed up the fitting in nylon with a lot of walls and tops and bottoms so that essentially it's all nylon. Fortunately, I kept that cap on a special place in one of my sheds, lol. Lucky to find it.

All fixed, and this tank is now better than new.
