This is not really a new tool for me and I should have done this review sooner but here it is. Last year when doing the Build out for the two small Service officer offices I picked up the portable sliding CMS from harbor freight for doing the trim work. I got to say for the money I am impressed. Today while working on the laundry cabinet I happed to glace over at it and thought how great a tool it really was. It used the same battery pack as the other BAUER tools and I have to say with the 20Volt 5 amp pack it does a great job. Yesterday I needed to cut a 1x12 pine board for the shelf in the cabinet and rather set up the guide for a single cut I decided to try the little guy. I knew that I only could do an 8 inch cut on the slider but I figured I could just flop it over to finish the cut. I have to say it worked perfect. I have used it a lot on 2x 6 and 2 x 8 and a lot of trim and found that it just keep on working. It not a production saw but hey for occasional use it gets the job done. It uses the same 7 1/4 blades that most circular saws use and that's a plus. Most trim work you do a cut fit the piece in place and then do another cut. I don't know if I would do crown molding but that's ok cause it makes my head hurt just thinking about the angles involved to do that in the first place. For $170 it is well worth looking @
