Burn an inch - forget I'm burning an inch - cut the piece an inch too short . . .

Most of my mistakes I can cover up in one way or another. This one, I had to just start over.
Cutting 5 boards at once for consistency. It was supposed to look like this on both ends...
To be fair, at least I got the notch on the right side of the boards. And the cuts are all consistent.
