thats is spot on color coordination in my eyes.. wish i had some of that maple you got:)

I got the maple from a friend that has a mill. He's going through chemo treatments and asked me if I'd make a couple of end tables for one of the nurses that's been really good to him. He said he'd provide the wood. I of course said yes. It stained gray from drying when it was hot outside and not a lot of air movement. I was a little leery about using it until I hit it with some finish and it looked really good with walnut. I have a few more boards left that I'll add to the stash. Here's a picture of the table tops.
