Just a board with an h

Wanted to give something to a fella who's last name begins with H
He's a friend of my daughter who did me a favor recently
So I did a lot of cutting and made this board with walnut trim
My selection of wood around the h should not have included Purple Heart but I tried to use as much of pieces I had laying around
Too dark next to walnut
Not changing it
Sorry for posting a board with all these great projects here lately keeping myself occupied

Let’s not belittle cutting boards . People love them. They’re fun to make and use up scraps. They are a win/win. Especially one as nice and personalized as yours. Great idea and a great gift.

Nothing wrong with it from here, Allen, I see your point but in a way it is cool how the "H" blends in, but if you are not happy with it, learn from it and make another one changing what you don't like. After all that's how we all learn.

The extra cutoff strips from this board
Some were not straight but I allowed extras for trimming and fitting
I made a border and although some not perfect joints I'll keep this one for me
