So far asking about stuff like this here has proven to give good results.

When my daughter was still living at home she was selling Pampered Chef.. Like Amway, Cutco, Avon. We bought stuff from her, well, because. It was a long time ago. My granddaughter is 13 and she was not born till they were married for a few years.

So the Pampered Chef kitchen shears fell on the floor and the handle broke.

I need a new set of Kitchen Shears.

What do you all like - or not like?

Don't know the brand, but we have a cheap set we got at Wally-World.... works fine for me. When I cut the bags for my vacuum sealer, I can just push them across the material and they cut .... no need to work the shears at all.

Our Cutco shears had lived a rough life. I paid the $10 to send them in for a re-furb. They sent us a brand new pair. I guess they should make it the next 35 years or so.

We have a pair of Wusthof kitchen shears of indeterminate age. I am guessing they are more than 20 years old. I bought them for my wife because she likes to cut up whole chickens and she uses them for parts of that dismemberment.

I insisted on the shears being capable of coming apart for cleaning if she was going to use them for chicken. Having them do so makes them much easier to clean. They are also dishwasher safe and much easier to sharpen with the two halves separated. I think I have sharpened them twice since we have had them.

I have a pair of shears that sorta look like these that I used for many years when I was doing a lot of fishing. They worked great and were easy to keep clean because they disassembled. I don't know the brand but they seemed to have more leverage than the normal kitchen shears.
