Klingspor

I am fortunate enough to live close to a Klingspor Woodworking Shop store although I haven't been to it in the last two or three years.

When I was working in Raleigh nearly every trip I stopped by the Woodworking Shop store and rifled through the big wooden bins of sandpaper cutoffs. You used to be able to buy Klingspor Gold remnants for $3 per pound. (I do not know if that is the case these days.) I would fill up a grocery bag with partial rolls, sheets etc. When I got it home I separated the grits and put them in buckets. Most of the time I made rolls of sandpaper 1 1/2-2" wide. I have enough sandpaper to last me two more lifetimes.

When I was teaching woodturning I prepared a sampler pack of rolls from 80-400 grit for each student.

I love the Klingspor Gold paper because it is cloth backed and seems to last an extraordinarily long time.

20250131 - Last day for $3.50 shipping and the sale. Almost missed it. Stocked up on some 6" mesh discs I was running low on.
