Little treasure boxes

Seeing Dan's thread about his treasure chests brought to mind some treasure chests I used to make.

Back in the day before I discovered the lathe I made boxes; all kinds of boxes from large jewelry chests to small trinket boxes and even tackle boxes.

One of my best sellers was a quick and dirty little box I called a treasure chest. The middle section was band sawn and sanded on the inside. Then two contrasting end pieces were attached with Ryobi mini-biscuits. The lid was held in place with short brass pins. They were finished inside and out with gloss wipe on poly. They were roughly 2x3.

Sorry for the lousy pictures. They are scans of actual photos. I haven't made any in years.

They sold like hot cakes.
