I have a few Miller Falls items, a No 14, a Brace, a No 9 CBG and all get used. So a fella had a Miller Falls No 9 for a good price and it included the box . . . I thought to myself "don't really need the box" ;-) I want to camber my No 9 CBG and use it as a small smoother so the plain ole No 9 was to make me feel good about doing that. So this shows up:

Appears to be a Type 4 made from 1955 through 1966. The tool looks as though it has never been used but, the iron appears to be hollow ground although never touched up or honed. I do plan to use it but, the immaculate appearance gives me pause. I assume I'll get over it. ;-)

I've bought some 45rpm 7" records like that. I get something pristine that I think, Wow, This is really a piece of history, then I get over it and slap it on the jukebox

'Things' were made to be used and enjoyed. Seems a shame to just put them on a shelf for someone else to ruin in the future.
