One last small project - Mirror frame in Walnut.
Coves were cut on the table saw, the end treatment was done on the oscillating spindle sander. Joinery is half laps and the finish is 4 applications of Livos clear oil. The tile is a hand made arts & crafts style landscape. The mirror, of course, will occupy the lower portion of the frame.

Initially I had planed on no cove and ebony plugs. However, the square members seemed too "Stickley" for this client who leans more towards Greene & Greene. The cove and end treatment are a detail right out of the G&G design book. I took it from the 'strap' detail found on this chest

and simply elongated it.

Mirror mirror on the wall
who's the fairest of them all..

And the mirror preened slightly.. "why.. I am it said" and the old witch was very wroth indeed.. but still had to concede the point for the mirror was truly fine.
Hmmm..... Recent studies have shown that only one out of seven dwarves is dopey.
