Grandson is really into puzzles lately and I know this is for younger kids but I can't make one without the other
This one was practice

Shoulda used drill press to make finger / entry holes on top of letters but I thought I could cut even circle with bandsaw
Well I tried

Put the cut out from the center of the D in and it will blend better. Either way, kids will love it and with parent's help (putting it away later until years later) kids will cherish it and remember you fondly.

I'll cut another piece to fill in the d
The original has an entry hole drilled thru it to pass the blade
Good idea it will look better not that a 2 and a 4 year old would notice 😀

Just got home from a day of errands doctors and physical therapy trying to motivate myself to go out to the garage and do some work
It ain't easy as I watch the snow fall
But elen is sick and I don't want to be around her that much so maybe that's a good idea

3 tries but for some reason I couldn't cut straight line today if my life depended on it
I changed blades 5 times used different blades to try to see if I was using wrong blade for walnut
Julietta puzzle is far from finished I will use the dremel sanding drums to round out the top finger holes but there's no excuse for crooked cutting
Again the client won't notice she's 22 months old eh maybe it's just too cold and my hands are struggling
4 of my fingers have cracked near the nail the skin is so dry and ice cold
And those tiny skin cracks are annoying

Tomorrow is another day and it's only a half bf of walnut so I might recut just not sure

Julietta is walnut on top of pine just using any small pieces I have laying around

Humidity has a lot to do with the way the saw will cut. You might be tired from all the running around before getting to the shop too. There are days like this, and it's best to leave it for another day, when you will wonder why you were having so much trouble today. Scroll saws cut great curves. What they don't like to do is cut perfectly straight. This too shall pass (well mostly).

I made a pair of cross ear rings only about 3/4" tall out of black walnut. The next day I tried to make another set and just made kindling starters. A week later it was no problem making another pair, and the matching necklaces for both pair. There are days when it's easy, and then there are days when it's impossible.
