My wife’s grandfather will be turning 101 this month. I was just wondering if any of you knew of a site to check who from his time on the USS Midas may be surviving yet. The ship was an ARB-5 repair ship commissioned in 1943 and.put in reserves in 1946. He was a diesel repair mechanic during the war.

although I have found only one I have served with.. we went through Boot Camp together.. He was KIA in VN.. I was able to provide a boot camp picture of him for the family.

Just as an added thought.. I have been following this.. this is the 40th anniversary of the VN memorial wall. They have been reading and showing picture of those KIA each month and day they were lost.
