need to identify this machine...

only information that i have, is that it is old, it is wood, it was used at an apple orchard, purpose unknown.

I would guess a peeler or a corer... stick the apple on those little sharp thingys and spin it agains that stick.

It looks like a machine for winding twine or something. I wonder what is missing from that square mortise. What is written on the piece of paper?

I'm going to guess that it was a peeler, the large wheel spins the smaller one with the shaft sticking out the side. There was probably an attachment above that shaft to do the pealing or another missing shaft that held the apple.

I was looking at some antique peelers and they have that spoon shaped device opposite the pointy thingy.

I don't believe it is a peeler.

My guess it that it is a wool or yarn spooler with the spindle missing.

Got nothing to do with apples cept maybe the sheep eat the apples.

i have seen quite a few similar to it, and it could be a version of apple peeler. i lean that way, as it is at a local apple orchard.

You got your pointy fork staberer thingys on the turner thingy and then you got that hanger downer dodad with a blade on it to carve off the apple peel.
