Found this nasty piece of dirty dusty wood tucked away in the shop and decided to see what it was. Since it was 8" square and not very thick I decided to turn a square bowl with rounded sides. I laid out the cuts for the band saw and was surprised to find that the wood was chakte kok/redheart. I don't recall buying this but obviously I did since it is unlikely that it grew in my shop.
About 8" square and a little less than 2" tall. These photos do not show it very well because of the curvature inside the bowl but the sides are curved and project out nearly an inch farther than the corners of the finished bowl.
