Not a bowl yet but

is definitely a future one.... one of the vendors at the local museum market place called Saturday a week ago while I was downtown at the farmer's market and told my wife he had some wood for me... had never met him, but have seen his booth that he shares with his mother... he does wind chimes from old silver ware....
Following Sunday he showed up while I was playing clerk at the market place... these are just 2 halves of what I cut from a small log he brought.... there was 3 or 4 little burls on the log which I think was a limb... haven't photographed the burls but one is about 6" and the other a bit smaller... my step son did photo the burls, but hasn't sent them to me yet... These two log halves have been cut into about 7" round bowl blanks...

That's some prime wood, all you have to do is convert it into something worthy of natures beauty without leaving too big a proportion on the shop floor as waste.
