I have been trying to whittle down (that's a wood joke) my wood hoard. I came across this little stick of Panamanian cocobolo that was about 9 inches long. I remember buying it but I don't remember why. Perhaps my plan was to make it into a tool handle. Anyway, I don't think that Panamanian cocobolo is a separate cocobolo species.
I decided to turn some little Japanese sake cups from the stick. Here are the results. All are about 2" tall and 2 1/2" in diameter. The one on the far right is shorter and for the life of me I don't know why it ended up an 1/8" shorter.
