Porter Cable 690 Bearing Replacement

I've noticed my 690 has been getting warm on the chuck end and notice a bit of noise from the bearing the other day. I'm planning to replace them and found a decent walk-thru of that. Anyone else done this?

Any recommendations for bearings?

I assume I probably should go ahead and order some brushes too?

Brushes for sure. Get the best quality bearings you can find at your local bearing shop. They'll cost more than OEM replacements, but they'll be worth it.

I used double sealed (versus shielded OEM's) for my Colt. I wasn't willing to go to ceramics or hybrids just for a trim router ;-) If your 690 gets used hard like in a CNC I would look to hybrid or ceramic. They are an order of magnitude more but, last many times longer in tough situations. I buy from VXB although I'm sure there are others.
