Marie is wanting an air fryer. Besides the fact that we don't have room for any more counter top appliances, it strikes me that these are nothing more than small convection ovens. If that's true I can't imagine one doing anything that the oven won't do. How close to truth is my conception?

That said I love my air fryer, wings come out crisper by far then in the oven

That's my experience as well. We have a convection oven, but the air fryer is great for "cooking" frozen fried foods like french fries, egg rolls, taquitos, etc. The air fryer blows the hot air a lot faster than our convection oven. Crispier food, and faster cooking too. We're short on counter space, so the fryer stays in a cabinet (in the living room) until it's needed.

LOML picked our Cuisinart air fryer at a thrift store for about $20. It has worked flawlessly. My sister got hers at another thrift shop for $15. There are deals to be had. ;)
