I have never liked the way I stored my DT saws. I got tired of making planters and "decorating" the back yard and so knocked this out to feel better about myself
. I have other saws stored elsewhere but like these three handy.
It will set about 4" higher on the tool cabinet door. I have it at this height to build it as I just did it on the fly. Two sides with a dowel between for the bottom. A block with slots and 1/4" x 1/2" rod magnets set into a hole drilled end to end for the top. A drop of CA glue keeps the magnets put once they were positioned although they were tight enough to stay on their own.
Now they take up less room and are still handy. I'll slap on some shellac and put it in its proper place.
