Well I bit the bullet and just bought a license. It seems that Cura has a problem changing the Z offset which is needed to do 3 D printing so I spent the $150 to upgrade. I'll do a review after I use it it came with a 2 week money back guarantee so it it doesn't solve the problem I am not out anything.
 
Yeah, I've been using cura more lately but haven't tried to do inclusions or multi color with it yet.

I tend to use the post processing macros in S3d for that to insert pauses at specific layer chagnes.
