Smallish Hackberry Bowl

I actually finished this yesterday, but just got around to the photo work and so on today. The diameter is 8 3/8" with a height of 1 3/4". Depth is 1 1/4" and volume to the brim is 2 cups. Used walnut oil for sealing and shellac for the finishing. The grain pattern is neat looking.

I love hackberry. I wish it was available locally. I know that occasionally loggers stumble upon a tree here and there but it is not all that common.

When it is heavily spalted it is a wondrous timber. Nice little bowl Dave.

This is a little spalted hackberry bowl that I am particularly fond of.... I don't often see this level of spalting in anything.
