Finished this up today. Should have been yesterday, but ran into a slight snag. Was having a dickens of a time getting it smooth at the base of the jar. Not saying it is perfect but a lot better than it was. Took an old wore out scraper and ground it to where it went into that space and smoothed it quite a bit. Still a line in it and that's that. The wood was from a burl so that might explain it being a bit finicky. The lid was burl as well, but from a different part of it. it's 9 1/4" long, 5 3/4" wide, 5 3/4" total height, 2 3/4" jar depth, and 3/4 cup volume for the jar. Had my usual fun with the walnut oil and shellac. Still have all of my knuckles, but a small amount of hide is missing here and there.
