Started my swap project tooday!

Well.....I was able to finish up this project today. Many areas of my woodworking skills need to be sharpened but...here it is anyway.
This is a candy dispenser. I took a basic design and made a few changes to make this one different than others I've seen. I'm not sure what kind of wood the lighter wood is. I've had it in my shop for many years waiting on the right project. The grain is very straight and I thought it went well with the Padauk wood the rest of the body is made from.
If I learned anything from making this it is this......Do NOT buy the candy until the project is completely finished. The first three bags disappeared before I had a chance to test out the dispenser. :dunno:

I feel like I won the Lottery!

It all made it safe and sound. Gotta say I'm super impressed. It all works very well (Had to test it out a few times). The colors of the wood are outstanding.

It looks better up close and personal.

My folks are in town this weekend and one of the things we always do is to watch some movies together during the weekend. This will be a centerpiece this weekend I'm sure and get a real workout!

I can't thank you enough. This will always have a spot on our end table!

(ignore the end table in this photo, it was a quick prototype I threw together after we got out new couches)
