Table top veneer repair

I'd say 80% loose Rabbit Skin glued veneers. I'll get this flatten out add a couple missing pieces and French polish with a good wax finish. Barn find, Same Barn

Anyone have an idea of how to lay this flat ?
As discuss the process when I get the emplements I'll need.

Steam, heat, and weights to hold it flat until the glue re-sets?
Maybe a glue-filled syringe for extremely dry areas?

With rabbit skin glue it's easily done with moisture and flat hot plate and iron. Placing a weight on top .

I've got some 8"x8"x2" thick blocks of aluminum that I got from my FIL shop after he died. They come in handy quite often for weighing down things.

I can imagine they would heat up pretty well in a toaster oven and hold the heat for a while. Not sure where you would find things like this, lol, so probably not much help.
