Once a year or every other year or so I treat us with Lobster Salad Sandwiches

I use the mostest bestest rolls I can find. Fresh Bakery only - no store bought stuff.

I will buy a pound of local lobster. There is a small store out in the middle of Westport Ma. that is ONLY from boats in Westport fishing the lobsters. The boats are only a couple of miles from the store. LOCAL

This is called "Maine Lobster", but is fished all around here - not just in Maine.

I usually pay around $75 for one pound of meat
That is Claws, Knuckles and Tail
Claws and Knuckles only - is cheaper.
Tails only is more expensive.

I think current prices are closer to $90 per pound.

I didn't do it this year, so maybe next year.

Man, I could chow down on that pile o' lobster. No bread needed, lol. I'm kind of surprised to see the cost has only gone up that much.

Don't know what people paid, but there was a restaurant in San Francisco back in early 70s that brought in lobster from Bangor Maine once or twice a week.... they were live and packed in seaweed....usually a dozen or more per box..... never had one myself... first time to have lobster was at one of my customer's house in Houston... he was a Chinese naturalized American that shipped to China regularly...
