I'm typing because I can't do much of anything else
We had to run over to my daughters house to watch the baby
My grandson passed out and his lips were turning blue
Called 911 and they instructed my sil to do cpr
He woke up crying but disoriented
Ambulance was here in under 2 minutes
We are waiting as they are in hospital

Worst nightmare for me never imagined anything like this could happen

I'm posting to get it off my chest I have a huge knot in my stomach as I type

they are keeping him tonight, tomorrow they are doing a few tests, an eeg, scan the brain, and a few other minor things. they dont have answers, but he was awake and eating cookies and goldfishwith juice, so thats a good sign. its possible he just ran himself into the ground, he has a cold, hes been playing all day, very active, and he was jumping and dancing to a video on tv when he passed out.
nassau county police dept, fantastic, were at the house within one minute, 6 officers responded,i may not recover, lost five years off my life tonight

He's feeling good he's happy the eeg is over and we are just waiting for results

I'm hopeful they will release him today
I'm also doubtful they will figure out what happened
But he's smiling he just keeps telling mom and dad he wants to go home now
Glad he's doing so well.

Did they test him for AFib? My niece had an AFib when she was younger, it wasn't until she was in her early teens they realized she had a resting heart rate of about 120 bpm due to it. Turns out she had two seperate nerves that were sending heart beats. They had to do surgery and do an ablation to stop one of them, which was a bit scary. She's now in her mid 20's and doing just fine.

they tested for 2 days, didnt bother my daughter when she just got home, she was happy. he was happy, grandpa took him to target just now and let him pick out a new truck.
they gave him an emergency rx, if he starts again, gets pale, passes out, its a med that goes up his butt, I didnt see it, but the doctors felt like it might have been what they call a complex seizure, could have been from a slight fever, they really dont know. but his vitals and brain and heart are all perfect, they claimed from all the tests. the happiest one of all was the baby, she saw mommy and went ballistic......grandpa was just as happy, but I didnt run around in circles. we will all keep an eye on him, and we are all going for cpr training.

on a humorous note, my daughter told him when they were in the emergency room waiting for a room, that they were getting switched to a hicer room, and he asked, like a hotel? and mommy said yeah, like that....when he got home, he told me he didnt like that hotel.

nurse told my daughter the hospital is packed with children.

my guess is that these are all covid babies, and since they were all locked up for years, none of them developed proper immunity from common germs. and then so many of them get so sick from a common cold.

I am glad to hear that your grandson is ok, It's tough dealing with little ones that can't yet speak to tell you where they hurt or feel bad. I tink I know how you and your family feel. I remember some 39-40 years ago, and my son could speak, but for about a year and a half we were making regular rush trips to the local kids hospital because he'd suddenly have a fever that would spike to103, 104 etc. We rush to hospital and by the time we'd get there he be normal temperature and we'd be stressed phsyco-wrecks. After about a year and a half these fever events just quit ..... period. Nobody was able to tell us why 104' or 105' was an intermittent normal for this kid or why it happened.

Covid babies? nahhhhh This bubble wrapping has been going on for two or three decades and getting worse. Covid was just a year and a half of putting on an extra layer of bubble. I remember coming out of the north in the fall of 1984 to live in Ottawa (Ontario) with our 1-1/2 year old son (we only have one) and hearing similar age parents refer to themselves as "momma-bear" or "poppa bear" and they'd use these cutesy names in the third person when talking to their kids in public ..... I'd never heard anything like it where we came from. If we addressed our son in public we called him by his name and referred to ourselves as "I" and "we". It hasn't got any better from my viewpoint.

I agree that lots of kids are not being allowed to get natural antibodies these last few decades (drives me nuts) .... but our son grew up with dozens of rabbits and chickens (we sold eggs) and his best buddies were two Husky-cross dogs that never left his side unless we were there to look after him. He lived in the dirt !!

EDIT : sorry for rambling on .... and I really am happy that your G.S. is ok !!
