Those Were The Days

. . . my friend. We thought they'd never end.

I lived in a household that was infused with music of all styles. That influence has followed me all my days. Heavy metal to Woody Guthrie; I listen to it all. Mary Hopkins did a lot of stuff but "Those Were The Days" is what most of us children of the 50s-60s remember her for.

One of my favourites, and it reminds me of my late teens and early twenties when I lived, went to college and worked in a gold mining town in Northern Ontario. The local hotel (aka : bar, pub) was where we socialised with our friends, learned to mix and mingle with all ages and languages, learned to play pool and darts. Those really were "the days".
