Tiki Bar - Done!

Its been Bambooified. Lights are installed, but you can't really see them during the day.

Starting to really shape up. I'm going to cut some thin strips of wood and wrap it around the front of the bar.
I mean, I could just fill in the voids in the ply and round it over, but I'm thinking a bit of a more solid look would be nice.

Not done yet, but doing a little test run. Seems to be working ok.

yeah, its a good reason to have an adult beverage. I used to find a good recliner or adirondack chair served a similar purpose. I dont consume alcohol these days. only once the past few years did I try a thimble full of an expensive scotch.I miss the days of scotch and soda, and my friends used to call me a girlie because now and then Id get scotch and gingerale, a womens drink so they told me.

i love the curved look, time to build some benches.

I bought 2 wooden stools similar to that one for a very reasonable price from Walmart a few years ago. They have a clear finish on them. Well, their price has gone up considerably, but they are still a good deal for what they are, and very sturdy.

I don't know why the link comes up with the name that it does, but it takes you to the correct product.

Banding is on, Back is on, Wheels are on. Working on trimming and cleaning up the banding and doing some sanding.

Need to figure out what kind of finish I want on it. Probably going to go for 'paint' of some color. The plywood isn't very good quality and sections of it has come off, or been sanded through the very thin face veneer.

At least thats the plan so far. Might go for a rustic island distressed kind of finish.

I did add some little feet that stick out for the wheels. The bar was easy enough to tip over as is, without trying to put the wheels under bar, which would have made it all the more tippy. I'm thinking of 3d printing out a couple of decorative tiki heads to put on them to hide them a little bit.

That's kind of what we were thinking as well. I ordered 4 of that kind of chair. We plan on painting them a variety of festive colors to add a little contrast to the drab desert colors around here, lol.

It part of the plan!
small flourescents are good as long as you can get the colored tubes to go over them. green, red, blue, orange light really would look great with the leds in the front.I have strips of led lights that can be programmed to whatever you desire, flash, run back and forth, blink, I received them by mistake and amazon said not to send back. my son wants 3 boxes, if you want, shoot me your address, Ill send you the 3 other boxes. wonder how they would look running on the front edge of the bar top, its your bar, Im just shooting ideas out to you.....but again, if you want the leds, I can send them to you but not until next friday, we are leaving saturday and Im not standing in line at the post office friday. you can treat me to a cold seltzer when I visit you.

That would be great. I'm always finding uses for the programmable LED's.

That's actually what I have installed on the front. I have a controller that uses a microphone to make the lights dance in time to music. It's using something called WLED as the control software. It connects via wifi and you can have it do all kinds of effects.
