So,
I tried some microwave and low temp oven on 3 of the cookies. I measures weight and moisture content.
Yes it works - BUT - Only on a very very thin surface thickness.
I DID drive out some weight, AND, I DID get the surface down to 5% - BUT - ONLY on a very thin surface.
I ran one of the cookies thru my drum sander and got all the saw marks out, then ROS down to 220, then hand sanded with a block at 220.
It is cool - BUT - another moisture meter check after sanding and it's back up to 30%
Sooo - it will almost certainly crack.
I am sure a 24 hour or more in the oven would drive out more moisture but I am just not willing to do that.
Today I mixed up the 10 pound of PEG and I have several cookies soaking in that solution until next month.
I also coated 20 cookies with Anchor seal on both sides.
I have another 10-12 cookies that I may try a DNA bath.
