Need to put a finish on a walnut vanity top that will withstand the typical moist conditions. I do not have the ability for a spray application so I will have to brush, roll or wipe on the finish. I am leaning toward Old Master oil base poly, just curious if there are any other recommendations.

The poly will work just fine. My preference, though, would be Behlen's "Rock Hard Table Finish." It goes on easily, flows smoothly, and is super durable. Comes either solvent or waterborne base. I've only ever used the solvent based version.

I’ve used Behlen’s (also on Jim’s recommendation) on my kitchen countertops, bathroom countertops, end tables and it looks and performs great. Perfect around water, just beads up, does not penetrate.

This is going on a treadle sowing machine base in a cabin Northern Wisconsin. I was hesitant about the walnut with the dark basin but it is what the LOML wanted.
