Finished this up yesterday afternoon. 9 1/2" diameter, 3 3/4" high, 3 1/4" deep, 2/3 gallon volume. Did my usual stuff sealing it with the walnut oil and then buffing it with tripoli compound stuff. The finishing was done with several light coats of shellac using 4 something steel wood and then buffing it again. Has some natural blemishes in the wood on the outside which makes it stand out pretty good to me.

Pretty bowl... is that English Walnut? All we have around here is the Black Walnut and the colors can be kind of variegated at times....

Still planing to try one of your pedastal bowls... I have a chunk of Black Walnut that I plan to use -- when I get the new bearings in my lathe... the bearing at the threaded end of my spindle froze up Saturday and I had to order new ones..... Jet wanted the same price for one bearing as I paid for all three... same bearings and probably from same supplier. Order them Saturday night and they arrived yesterday.... I use VXB out of California.
