not giving up leo, now waiting for the scoring sheet, see what the judges had to say. yesterday, there were 212850 at the fair, for a total so far of 483918 since it opened on the 24th.
picked up the board today, along with the scoring sheet. the results are: design 17/20, workmanship 18/20, originality 13/15, difficulty of project 12/15, usefulness 10/10,
value in point of interest 9/10, and value of article in relation to work done & material used 10/10. for a grand total of 89/100. hard to believe, but the cribbage board
was edged out by this....
Interesting scoring. That is stuff I like to delve into. Do you have any more info on how the contest works and how the judging works. I would like to learn more about that. I really liked the example of that piece. It's within the reach of my interest. I would like to try something like that some day.
I like that they at least have a scoring system written down and are following it. It still is subjective, but hey, that's what happens when you leave it in the hands of the judges. I will eventually wind up the grandkids 4H projects with their final judges decisions. It is relevant to the judge's experiences as well as their likes and dislikes.
