I turned this awhile ago and didnt like so much as it looked a bit plain. Now with inspiration of tides , sand and the wind I came up with this.

Brown Mallee 6"x 5" in satin W.O.P. and buffed, havent decided what to do with it as yet. It would normally be entered into our national competition AWTEX. But due to a series of events its been cancelled next year and it looks like that the end of it. This a shame as we do not have very many contest here and this was the only national one to my knowledge.

Anyway gentlemen your thoughts are welcome both positive and negative.

Ain't nothing wrong with that turning. Love the grain and natural edge.

I love it, Hughie! It's a bit of a departure from your usual spiral pieces, but definitely a great and unique piece. Sorry to see the competition has been cancelled. I suspect this piece would have fared well.
