What is the best scroll saw on the market today?

I cant fit two of anything in my shop. I always regretted selling off my portable compressor and my portable small tablesaw, but it would have been a burden to keep it. I have no more room in my shed.
the 22 44 drum sander and my huge snoblower, the plywood sheet carrier, handtrucks, carts, outdoor decorations, painting suppllies, misc, there just isnt any room anymore for me to get anything extra.what got my attention with the hegner, something hard to explain, was the blade changing. my eyes dont look up when I bend down, the muscles just dont, so I had so much problems between arthritis and eyes trying to change out blade.....when I saw the way the blade comes out of the hegner, and then the quick change knob, yeah, thats for me....sometimes I have to bite the bullet and pay up. the only machines I would purchase would be if sawstop makes a mitre saw or bandsaw, Id be interested. \
use the hawk and enjoy. when I get home after a quick trip to conneticut, Im going to start my first intarsia project, have to keep it as simple as simple can be so I dont get frustrated and throw things.

\just saw the pic I posted of the figures in the baggies, forgot I have to clean out all those eyeholes...glad I looked at the pic....elen yells at me constantly to get all this stuff off the buffet unit. I like to look at them, soon Ill have to put them all in bins until I give them away

I've made at least a dozen of those lanterns
Was easy enough using my jigsaw

They look best when using old cruddy wood
Or I just leave oak outside and let the weather so it's job
I just got a dozen battery operated tea lights that I use in mine and I will give a couple each to a neighbor who has one of mine and my daughter who has at least 2 of them
I painted a couple of them orange but prefer the weathered old look

During the pandemic a person near me took down an old cedar fence and put up plastic
I saw the pile of slats and asked him about them
He told to take them all
Was my intention to make a boatload of them but the slats were full of bugs and I didn't want them in my shop
Don't think they were wood bugs just sitting in the dirt too long

Cut them down in length, put in a garbage bag and spray with bug killer and close bag. A couple of days and bug free wood.

Can't recommend "best". But, this thread has stirred a small memory. There is a theme park in the area that has an 'olde timey' style. The gift shop has a section that makes custom signs on the spot with scroll saws. At one time they were upgrading and selling the old ones. These were industrial grade and offering price was very attractive. At the time I saw them I did not have the means to haul one home or the budget to buy. I've always regretting missing out on that bargain.

Okay, Check this out. I purchased the used Hawk Scrollsaw at a great price for me. But, this is worth far more than the price of the saw. It took many messages back and forth and me giving them suggestions on how to sell it. Then, they accepted my lowball offer. But after this and about 30 minutes of talking to the sellers in person and getting the saw. The family wanted to see some of my work. We have emailed back and forth several times. So today, I received an email from the family inviting me to share Thanksgiving Dinner with them! Can you imagine that? They knew We did not have family locally, but holy cow...how true American is that. Inviting strangers to share such a holiday. I was overwhelmed, in fact this hardcore Marine shed a tear. That is what I joined and fought for! America that is the America I love. And I am still more than willing to fight and die for!

Paul, what a wonderful outcome! That is something that I am so glad you shared. There is good in the world, it just doesn't get proclaimed loudly So, enquiring minds want to know, what are you scrolling for that dinner?????

Just hanging with the scroll saw
Made a bunch of these quick tree gifts
Some friends and relatives are stealing them off my table in the house so I brought the rest back into the shop
These might be a fundraiser for school in November
Still have to make some of the leaning tree and oil them
A lot of doctor appts this week then away next week so need to take some time off from shop
They are loads of fun to make
Don't really need a scroll saw but it makes life a bit easier with all the right cuts
Xmas ornaments are dollar tree specials
